This section contains an alphabetical listing of policies that apply to caucuses or Members as articulated within the policy application statement. Users are advised that the Legislative Assembly’s administrative policies, available here, may also be of relevance. For example, section 1.05 of Policy 3500 – Internal Audit, identifies the ability of Caucus Chairs to submit a written request for the provision of internal audit services for a caucus or constituency office.

Policy 7410 – Appropriate Use of IT Resources for Members and Employees of a Member or Caucus outlines responsibilities for Members and their staff to ensure information technology resources are used appropriately to protect the privacy, confidentiality, and security of Legislative Assembly information, including information under the control of a Member of the Legislative Assembly, and the protection of Legislative Assembly assets.

Policy 7520 – Caucus Funding documents the approved formula for caucus and Independent Member budgets.

Policy 7525 – Caucus Funding – Leader’s Office documents the approved formula for the Leader’s Office portion of annual caucus budgets.

Policy 7310 – Constituency Office Leasing establishes parameters and requirements for constituency office leasing and lease management.

A transitional directive provides clarifications and transitional measures for the policy’s implementation between the 42nd Parliament and the 43rd Parliament.

Policy 5410 – Information Security applies to everyone who uses Legislative Assembly IT resources or the Legislative Assembly network and establishes information security requirements, principles, and processes to mitigate risks and safeguard information

Policy 7405 – IT Resource Allocation for Members and Employees of a Member or Caucus outlines the allocation, repair and replacement of IT resources for Members, caucuses, and constituency offices.

The Legislative Precinct Parking Policy provides a framework for the allocation and terms of use of parking spaces assigned to Members of the Legislative Assembly and caucus employees.

Administrative inquiries, such as a parking assignment or a taxable benefit may be directed to Client Care. Enforcement inquiries may be directed to Legislative Assembly Protective Services.

Policy 7220 – Members’ Legal Assistance (Indemnification) sets out the criteria and approval process for reimbursement or payment by the Legislative Assembly of legal fees and other costs incurred by a Member (or former Member) in relation to legal proceedings that arise in the discharge of the Member’s (or former Member’s) parliamentary functions.

Policy 7335– Member Records outlines processes for managing and safeguarding records created or received by Members.

Policy 6020 – Precinct Space Management provides a framework for how the Legislative Assembly allocates workspace within the Legislative Precinct to ensure the use of space is equitable, efficient, and meets current and future business needs of the Legislative Assembly. The policy is applicable to Members, caucuses, the Legislative Assembly Administration, and any other group or individual allocated workspace within the Legislative Precinct.

Policy 6015 – Precinct Use addresses requests to use designated areas within the Parliament Buildings, including events sponsored by a Member or caucus, requests for events on the legislative grounds, and requests to change the light colour of the ceremonial entrance, front fountain, Centennial Fountain, and Confederation Garden Park fountain and waterfall.

Policy 6520 – Reporting Suspected Wrongdoing was approved in-principle by the Legislative Assembly Management Committee on May 7, 2024, and will become fully operational following the appointment of a disclosure entity.

This policy establishes an independent and arm’s-length process for current and former Members of the Legislative Assembly to report suspected wrongdoing within the Legislative Assembly Administration without fear of retaliation. The policy will be administered by the disclosure entity once appointed by the Legislative Assembly Management Committee.

The Respectful Workplace Policy formally establishes shared workplace standards of conduct among different groups who interact and work on the Legislative Precinct and provides support through an Independent Respectful Workplace Office (IRWO).Questions regarding internal caucus policies are best directed to Caucus Executive Directors or to Legislative Assembly Human Resources.
